The Haribo post
As I may have mentioned once or twice, I'm a great lover of Haribo. On my travels I decided to explore further Haribo's happy world and discover the experiences of this wonderful sugary treat that others have. I had two criteria when making my selection: firstly, I couldn't have tried them previously in the UK. That's not to say you can't get them in the UK, just that I'd not tried them. Secondly, I couldn't buy the same variety twice. I promised that I would let you know all the different varieties I had whilst travelling and so this post will be dedicated to Haribo: The Champion of Chewy Sweets!
EASTERN EUROPE
Budapest
Tokarosvert
I was obviously so desparate to eat these I forgot to photograph them first!
Gyor
Veszprem
Heviz
Keszthely
Bratislava
These were delicious
Debrecen
These were awful!
Club Napoca
These were quite bland but did an excellent job of sticking my teeth together!
Sibiu
Sighisoara
These were probably the sweetest of all of them.
Targu Mares
Bucharest
Balchik
Burgas
I was really looking forward to these but they were incredibly disappointing
SOUTH AMERICA
Curico
I wasn't really expecting to get Haribo in South America and this was the case for Argentina and Chile. I became desparate for a sugary hit though and so these seemed the best option. They soon cured me and rather than leaving me with a desire for more, they left me with a pressing need for Gaviscon!
Piriapolis
You can imagine how excited I was when I found these in Uruguay!
Punta del Este
Foz do Iguacu
And then again in Brazil!
These last two I took the photos on my phone and I'm not sure where I was at the time.
You may have noticed that I had Wummis in Budapest and whilst these are the equivalent of that, I decided they counted as a different sweet with the packet being in English. I was right, they were a very different consistency - in the same way that veggie and non-veggie Colin the Caterpillars are.
