It's amazing how emotive music can be. Sometimes I listened to the list in its entirety. Sometimes I was feeling chilled and picked the songs to suit that mood and at other times I wanted fun and fast beats and it had those too. When I was making up the playlist I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to the songs and so the first time I listened to it the first song that came on (I'm not saying which it is) turned out to be the favourite of the person (other than me) who's probably been the most influential on the path my life has taken. I must admit it took the wind out of my sails initially, but then it left me feeling thankful because without them, I wouldn't have the life I do or have been on that bus exploring South America.
Some songs really became firm favourites, Lost boy, Dear Theodosia, Bat out of hell, Congo del Fuego, Gracias a la Vida, We built this city, Your woman... actually I could include most on this list! I must admit there were some I usually skipped but again, I won't tell you which they are! Some songs will always remind me of the person who suggested it, such as Fast Car by Ryan Montbleau (I'm sure you know who you are!). I will always remember the brilliantly fun night our little group had that broke me! Others will always remind me of South America, such as the Phil Collins track, which I heard a lot (in addition to on this list) as he is really popular out there!! And well, the classical pieces, the person who said sometimes you need to listen to classical pieces when you're driving through beautiful scenery was right, although I don't think it needs to be limited to then! I really enjoyed all those suggestions. And so thank you all for helping me to develop this wonderful soundtrack to my five months in South America; it really played a huge part in my enjoyment of the trip!
