Oh my! What a weekend I've had! Next weekend I'm planning to take a load of stuff up to my parents' house and so I've spent a big chunk of the weekend packing (and trying not to get scared that the storage unit I've reserved is too small... it will be OK I'm sure...!!). Anyway, in the whole action-reaction way of things I decided I needed to do exciting stuff as a counter-balance for the not exciting stuff. My lovely friend Kate let me know this week that the BA seat sale was on and so I got super-excited about booking South America flights. But of course, the Law of Sod was in place for this and so my flights weren't in the sale! But after considerable investigation, I've discovered that with judicious use of Avios points I can get my flight out to Buenos Aires and flight back from Rio for the grand total of £523.17!! In my first post I mentioned that my landlord was thinking of selling my flat. Well he decided that he would actually do it and so I'm now in the joyous phase of flat viewings. This is quite annoying for two reasons. Firstly, I have to keep my flat tidy all the time and those of you who know me well will know that this is anathema to me. I'm guessing that David's hoping that he sells the place soon as over time it's gradually getting messier and messier with each viewing. Secondly, as one of his strategies is to hold open house visits on a Saturday morning it means that I have to be out of my flat for this to happen. I long for the day when I can just veg on the sofa drinking coffee and watching Saturday kitchen, but over the last few weeks, I've had little choice to be out and about way earlier than I would ever actively choose to be on a weekend!  Today, I decided that I would take the opportunity to go to Kingston and do a bit of trip shopping.  On my list I had

So this week has been a bit up and down. Last weekend my landlord announced that he might not sell my flat after all which meant I then had a bit of a wobble for a couple of days wondering if I'm doing the right thing. However, this did only last a couple of days and to reinforce that this trip wil be fab, I decided up splash out on the new pair of walking shoes I'd been looking at. They're Columbia  Womens Ventrailia Razor OutDry Hiking Shoes and the photo makes them look a little brighter than they are but I'm in love with them!! How pretty are they?! Was a bit concerned buying them online but after retrieving them from completely the wrong floor in my building where the postman had taken them, tried them on and they are perfect! This week, my iPad mini keyboard arrived as well. Am super-chuffed with it.  With the nightmare that was this week's election, it turns out that shopping therapy really does work. Now off to order the travel trousers from the Mountain War
