Pants cubed or cubed pants?
In my first post I mentioned that my landlord was thinking of selling my flat. Well he decided that he would actually do it and so I'm now in the joyous phase of flat viewings. This is quite annoying for two reasons. Firstly, I have to keep my flat tidy all the time and those of you who know me well will know that this is anathema to me. I'm guessing that David's hoping that he sells the place soon as over time it's gradually getting messier and messier with each viewing. Secondly, as one of his strategies is to hold open house visits on a Saturday morning it means that I have to be out of my flat for this to happen. I long for the day when I can just veg on the sofa drinking coffee and watching Saturday kitchen, but over the last few weeks, I've had little choice to be out and about way earlier than I would ever actively choose to be on a weekend!
Today, I decided that I would take the opportunity to go to Kingston and do a bit of trip shopping. On my list I had travel journal, sandals, fold up ballerinas, flesh coloured top, cotton (to turn up my travel trousers and skirt) and miniature bottles. I wasn't very successful. Managed to get the cotton but failed on every other item on the list! However, it wasn't a completely wasted trip as I have been looking for travel cubes, but with little success... I had them when I did my trip 10 years ago and they were so useful, but I've been struggling to locate any that are the right size. So you can imagine how chuffed I was when I found some in Cotswold Outdoor (which didn't have any the last time I went there). Not only did they have them but they had ultra lightweight ones too! (I'm all about keeping it lightweight on this trip!)
Really pleased with them! Was thinking that I might need two of the small ones for my pants and now I've tried them out, I will. I do remember doing an inordinate amount of washing on my last trip which seemed to be linked to the number of pairs of knickers I had with me so I'm planning on taking more this time. Since my last trip, I also discovered the wonderful Marie Kondo method of folding clothes so look!
Marie Kondo folded pants fit perfectly in my quarter cube! I have fit in 8 pairs so I think I'll do two cubes and then I can also have one cube in the top and bottom of my rucksack so I don't have to go pant hunting! I might also now be able to go longer without doing laundry... 😳
I'm not sure if David found a buyer today, but I feel he could not have had such a successful day as me!
